Minnesota beat Iowa 42-4 in Iowa City on November 2, 1891. After Minnesota players repeatedly hit Iowa star Ozzie Simmons hard in 1934, Iowa Governor Clyde Herring and Minnesota Governor Floyd Olson bet a live pig on the 1935 game to cool things down. Minnesota won 13-6, Herring delivered a prize hog from Rosedale Farms near Fort Dodge named after Olson, and Olson commissioned the bronze likeness that's been played for ever since. In 1960 unbeaten No. 3 Minnesota beat unbeaten No. 1 Iowa 27-10 with the Big Ten title and a Rose Bowl trip at stake.
