Texas is No. 1 in the 2026 Week 5 AP poll with 1,737 points, ahead of Georgia (1,646) and Notre Dame (1,581). It's Texas' 3rd straight week at No. 1.
The biggest jump belongs to Florida, up 13 to No. 8.
USC fell the furthest, down 6 to No. 18.
Oklahoma State, Boise State, UCLA and Kentucky are new to the poll, and Penn State, Louisville, Michigan and Texas A&M dropped out.
The SEC has 10 ranked teams, the Big Ten 6, the Big 12 5, the ACC 2 and 1 independent.
The Coaches Poll has the same top three. It differs most on Ole Miss: No. 9 in the AP, No. 12 in the Coaches Poll.
